HP 9000 C240 Visualize Workstation (Model Number 9000/782/C240+) with:
- 236MHz PARISC 8200 Processor
- 512MB RAM
- 4GB SCSI Hard Drive
Performance Results

Purpose

Although the HP 9000 C240 is a workstation, I plan on using it as a server (HTTP/POP/IMAP/etc.).

I plan on installing only the necessary applications in order to serve it's purpose. The benefit of this are:

A cleaner filesystem with less wasted space.
Improved security because unused services won't be running. I only have to track security advisories for the fewer applications that I do install.
Easier system maintenance because of the less applications installed, the less change of conflicts between them during install or upgrades.
